Topshop Magic Liner in Yonder

I have updated my Summer make up bag (finally!!) and weaseling it's way into many of my looks this month - the Topshop Magic Liner in the shade Yonder.  You've seen me wear it already in my first Face Facts post, but Yonder is a gorgeous shade as it sits nicely in between a navy and an aqua blue and I absolutely love it.

I've not tried much from the Topshop cosmetic line, but have heard so many good things about it - I had pretty high hopes, and I don't think I'm disappointed!  The liner has a felt tip applicator, which isn't my favourite as I'm a gel convert and have been for a few years now, but y'know...it's alright.  The nib is nice and long, and even has some slight flexibility in the very tip making it a bit easier to use and create a nice line.

Because I'm so used to the gel liners now, I found it a lot more difficult to get a perfect line, and found that even with the steadiest hand, my line became slightly jagged, but not noticeable unless you're staring right into my eyeballs.  It also didn't apply the most evenly, so application takes a little longer than a swipe and go technique.

Saying this though, I do really like it.  It's long lasting, and doesn't smudge off half way through the day on it's own - but when I do go to the gym in the evening, and become a big sweaty mess, it's safe to say it's gone completely.  It dries quickly, so I don't get a blue line on the crease of my eye lids which is always a bonus - I hate that!  And the shade is just so nice; I don't own a blue liner, but I think a blue liner will forever be a staple in my make up stash!  For £6.50, you can't really go wrong with this to test the blue waters.  I'd definitely buy it again, but might keep my eyes peeled for a blue gel liner!

Will you be straying from classic black?  What's your go-to eyeliner shade?

Face Facts: Fresh, Summer Evening Make Up

Woah, hello close up of my face!  I thought today I would share a recent make up look; you may have seen it on my Instagram page, but if you didn't, here is exactly what I used on my face that evening!  I went out for a few drinks with friends, and thought I'd try something a little different; blue liner.

I was quite pleased with this make up look; even though my base has such a high coverage, I felt surprisingly natural and fresh faced for an evening in town.  I'm not too sure on how I feel about the Barry M Brow Kit at the moment...I've only used it a couple of times and I don't feel convinced on it, especially now, because in these pictures my brows look super light, soft and almost powdery.  I definitely think I prefer a sharper, more defined brow.  My favourite part of the whole look though is the blue eyeliner.  I picked it up from Topshop with the gift card I got for my birthday back in January, and I'm so pleased with it!

I'll be sure to add some specific reviews of any products used which are not underlined in the face facts list soon so keep checking back, or comment below any products you'd like prioritising!

What do you think?

Outfit Planning #2: Salone Satellite, Milan

On Saturday, I'm jetting off to Milan for the day!  I'm actually going to the Milan Furniture Fair, specifically for the Salone Satellite where lots of New Designers are showcasing their newest works and prototypes.  I'm really excited to be attending for the second time, even if it is only for a day!  The Milan Furniture Fair is world famous, and is one of the biggest design fairs in the world, if not the biggest and one of the main design events to attend.  It is ridiculously huge, and there is no way I'll be able to see it all in a day, but I'll sure be giving it my best!

I have been thinking about what to wear for a while, and I think I've finally settled on something that will be comfortable, but still nice enough to feel confident wearing.  I will be awake and travelling for around twenty eight hours, so definitely want my clothes to be easy wearing.

1/2/3/4

I will be opting for my most comfortable jeans from River Island, and these are the Light Wash Lana Superskinny Jeans.  Because of my bottom heavy shape, I find trousers in general really difficult to feel comfortable in, but these high waisted ones are perfect for my shape and fit amazingly!  In fact, they might even be getting a little too big now I'm going for it at the gym!  Hurrah!

I finally spent my Christmas New Look gift voucher last week, and one of the pieces I bought was the Neon Green Batwing Slouch Sweater.  I really, really love this.  It's a bit heavy and it's shorter in the front than it is in the back, so it's nicer to wear with my high waisted jeans.  I'll probably be layering this up with just a plain cami underneath, and a black leather biker jacket over the top in case it is a bit cold.  I don't own anything neon, because I always worry I'd be washed out, but you know what...I don't even care, I like it, I like the colour and life is too short to worry whether my outfit compliments my skin tone.  I actually even think it looks quite nice.

I also ordered these sunglasses from H&M.  I'm completely fussy when it comes to sunglasses, because I find it hard to find a shape that suits me!  These were £5.99, and I love the tortoise shell frame with an oil slick coloured lens.  I used an online discount code for my recent order with H&M which saved me £5 and I scooped myself free delivery too, so these were a total bargain.  Because of H&M's super long delivery time, I have a feeling that these might not make it to me on time, so I might have to crack out my vintage Ray Bans.

Finally, I haven't bought these (yet) but I'm seriously considering it.  These skate shoes are the TIKA2 High Vamp Skate Shoes from Topshop and they are just £20!  I have a £10 gift card from my birthday to spend, so I might get these, but I've read the reviews and they are a small fit and I have wide feet!  They might not be the most comfortable if I'm trotting around Milan for the day.

As far as bags and what I'll be packing...I haven't a clue.  Any in flight suggestions welcome!

What do you think of my outfit?  Anything you would recommend to accompany my choices?

Wednesday Wishlist #4

Well it has been a while since I last wrote out a Wednesday Wishlist...  I have to admit, I've been pretty naughty lately and anything that I have wanted, I've kind of just bought.  Within reason, of course.  Most of my recent purchases have been bought with Christmas funds and birthday money, but now...well I'm probably scraping the barrel of the birthday bucket.

1/2/3/4/5

My absolute favourite film of all time is The Little Mermaid.  These pyjamas just outright need to be mine.  The shorts are ideal for the warmer months coming in, and it's The Little Mermaid...just end of really.  Mine.

Way back in September, I was lusting after MAC's Lady Danger lipstick in one of my previous Wednesday Wishlists.  Whilst I still like that shade, I think I prefer the application of a lip colour through a lip pencil.  This NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil is the perfect red toned orange and I am dying to try this one out.  I've got a few bits from NARS, mainly skincare and an eyeliner, all of which is untouched until I've finished what I'm using at the moment.  So if I got this, this could be the start of a NARS love affair as I've heard good things about these.

Sticking with the favourites excuse, Gerberas are my absolute favourite flowers.  So these Clinique Cheek Pop blushes are looking pretty amazing to me.  These aren't due for release until March, but I have a gift voucher with these written all over it.  These colours are Berry Pop and Peach Pop.  I don't know why because the weather is bloody awful where I am, dead miserable and gloomy, but I'm really eyeing up my Spring wardrobe and am excited to be cracking out the brighter colours in my make up stash.

Another product preview is this Vivienne Westwood X ASOS clutch bag from the Ethical Africa collection.  I really love the striking pattern on this, and whilst it's probably on the bottom of the list of things that I could actually afford to buy on this wishlist, it's my favourite item and think this would be perfect for everything.  It can be dressed up as an evening bag, as well as cracked out for Summer afternoons in the Pub Garden.  So really...an investment piece for me.  We'll see how that one goes down...this is available on Friday I think!

These boots are from New Look.  I've been constantly stalking the website every day this week for these to come back in stock.  I have a New Look voucher that I've been waiting to spend, and I need these boots!  They're very similar to boots that I already have, but these don't have a cut out meaning I could wear them probably a bit more than I do my cut outs.  I love the chunky heel and biker style.

Has anything caught your eye on this weeks Wednesday Wishlist?
